Widgets are reusable items that can display a variety of data.
They can be added to Communico webpages and some have been developed to display in Communico Apps and Broadcast Shows.
All widgets can be exported and added to external webpages within iFrames.
There are 3 main widget types based on where the content comes from. We also have some flexible widgets which can be a mixture of these 3 types.
These pre-styled widgets are built up by a user entering their own content.
The Bookmarks widget allows you to display information categorized within tabs. You can setup as many or as little sections as you'd like and add the coresponding content with links that point out to that resource.
The Button widget allows you to create a simple button with a link and short description.
The FAQ widget is list of questions and answers relating to a particular subject, especially one giving basic information for users. Clicking on any question will display the cooresponding answer.
Curbside pick-up is available during our normal business hours. Curbside pick-ups are only for materials currently on the hold shelves.
Most library materials are available for curbside pick-up. This includes books, CDs, movies, audiobooks on CD, book club sets, discovery kits, and board games.
It takes time to collect requested items and prepare them for pick-up. If you've put something on hold, we ask for 24 hours to gather the items and place them on the hold shelves for you. Once you have a received a notification that they are on the hold shelves, you may pick them up.
The Online Resources widget allows you to create easily categorized sections to display eResources your library has to offer. You can section them however you'd like and add as many resources you desire to each section.
The form widget is a simple way to create a basic form your library may need for communication purposes. The widget allows for lots of versatility. During setup, you'll have the option to create your own custom fields, choose where the form should be sent to on submit, form captcha, and more.

The Resources Database widget allows users to easily access your libraries databases. Some common resource databases include content from Ancestry.com, Gale Courses, Medline Plus, and more. You can choose to alphabetize the resources and section them in categories.
The slideshow widget is a way to create a simple, user friendly slideshow. Slideshows are a great way to capture a users attention. The widget settings allows you to add images that can link to another site. You can add transitions, add arrows, choose the delay, and more.

The Slideshow Plus widget, is similar to the Slideshow widget, but allows for more features. Similar to the slideshow widget, you can add transitions, arrows, and choose the delay. In addition to that, this allows you to create a slide, 'scene' that can embed other widgets like events, reserve and more.
Setting up a site search is easier than ever with the Site Search widget. In the widget settings, add your library's website, along with a simple placeholder text if you wish. Searching a term in this widget will help users find content on your website for example, 'events' or 'contact' information.
The Show widget is a more advanced version of a slideshow. This allows library's to display anything from, static images, to events, to current room bookings.
The Library Card widget is a way for users to sign up for eCard library access. You'll have the ability to set the patron type, expiration date, county and zip restrictions, and more. You may even set up a custom text to be sent after a patron successfully submits the form.
These pre-styled widgets pull data from external sources and update as that data changes.
The Facebook widget allows you to easily embed posts from your library's Facebook page.
The Recommended Reads widget is a simple carousel that can display book jackets that link out to your online catalog. You'll have the ability to create categories for example "NYT Best Fiction Sellers", "Staff Picks" or, "Top Reads". These can be easily setup by inputing the Bib IDs for the items you wish to showcase.
The iFrame widget gives libraries the ability to embed an iFrame to their website seemlessly. In the widget settings, add the URL you wish to embed, set the height and width values, and that's it! The widget will generate the iFrame code for you to copy and paste.
The RSS widget is an easy way for your library customers to keep up with news and information that may be important to them.
The Twitter widget allows you to easily embed tweets from your library's Twitter account.
The video widget allows library's to embed a video from the service of your choice (YouTube or Vimeo). Within the settings of this widget, you may choose to start the video muted, loop it, enable captions, and much more.
These pre-styled widgets pull and display data that has been entered in the Communico Control Panel.
The Events widget displays your library's events up to 90 days. You may choose to limit the events in the feed by event type, age group, or tags. Display styles include list or calendar view. You can chose to include or exclude private events, limit to a certain location, display event images and much more.
The Reserve widget displays the rooms your library has to offer for reservations. You can set filters like staff or customer reservations, include or exclude cancelled bookings or certain rooms, and include or exclude event filters like private, age group, etc.
The Locations widget is an easy way for customers to see branch hours and direction information. You can set the widget to display today's, tomorrow's, or full week hours. You can also add a map along with contact information for the branch.

The Nested widget allows you to 'nest' widgets together in an accordion style view. In this example we have nested the button, FAQ, and Events widget. When a user clicks on the headers, the content will expand to show the nested widget, clicking on the header again will collapse the view.
Using this widget you can get creative and write your own source code. Some examples of an HTML widget are creating banners to display information on your website, creating custom headers, and more!
